Following the Record-Breaking Success of Midsomer Murders: The Killings at Badger’s Drift, a Second UK & Ireland Tour Will Open in April 2027
Daniel Casey Returns as Inspector Tom Barnaby
Following a hugely successful UK & Ireland tour in 2025/26, the acclaimed stage adaptation of Midsomer Murders: The Killings at Badger’s Drift will return for a second national tour from April 2027. Producers Nicholson Green Productions and Colin Ingram Ltd have confirmed that Daniel Casey will reprise his role as Inspector Tom Barnaby, with further casting announcements to follow.

Adapted by Guy Unsworth from Caroline Graham’s bestselling novel The Killings at Badger’s Drift, the production is based on the story that launched the internationally celebrated television series Midsomer Murders, produced by Bentley Productions for ITV in association with All3Media International.
Daniel Casey said of the new tour, “Since returning to the world of Midsomer last October, it has been such a delight to see the incredible reaction of people around the UK and Ireland to our theatre version of The Killings at Badger’s Drift and, most importantly for me, getting my dear friend John Nettles’ seal of approval after he saw it in Truro. So it is wonderful that, after such a successful first tour, we will be touring to even more venues in 2027. Thank you to all those people who have shown such love for the play and I can’t wait to bring it to a whole new audience in some wonderful new venues in 2027.”
When the much-loved Emily Simpson is discovered dead in the idyllic village of Badger’s Drift, the incident is quickly dismissed as an accident. However, her close friend Lucy Bellringer is unconvinced and urges the authorities to look deeper. As Inspector Tom Barnaby and Sergeant Gavin Troy begin their investigation, they uncover a seemingly tranquil community filled with hidden motives, buried secrets and simmering tensions.
Packed with memorable characters, unexpected twists and a compelling mystery at its heart, The Killings at Badger’s Drift brings the charm, humour and suspense of the beloved television drama and original novels to the stage. This gripping theatrical adaptation offers audiences a classic detective story full of intrigue, deception and revelation.
Midsomer Murders: The Killings at Badger’s Drift is adapted and directed by Guy Unsworth, with design by David Woodhead, lighting design by Matt Haskins, sound design by Ella Wahlström, music by Max Pappenheim and casting by Ginny Schiller CDG.
The production is presented by Nicholson Green Productions and Colin Ingram Ltd.
